WEBJun 29, 2015 · I think the older 028 was the best saw Stihl built, right up with the 08 S, they run, run and run. I had a big stand of Swamp Spruce up on the South Round Lake Rd. 1200 cds. I was running two skidders, C5-D and the S8 IH. I ran the C5 my wife ran the S8, one landing man, and one faller.

It's full comp chisel chain, but, the tie strap directly ahead of the raker, at the rear of the tie strap it has a raised ramp on the rear of the tie strap. I'm assuming that it is made this way because of the height of the raker on 404 chain. None of my other Stihl chain has this ...

WEBMar 9, 2023 · Truth be told "balance" is all about what you get used to. Don't believe me run a stihl for a few days then pick up a Echo or a Dolmar. It will feel weird as heck for about a day. Then your good again. Keep the air filter clean and give that saw high octane fuel with a good ethanol treatment or run ethanol free fuel. I miss those screw on tank ...

WEBFeb 8, 2011 · Husqvarna and Echo make a similar saw and are little cheaper. But the FS550 has been around for a long time where as Husqvarna is always changing their saws. So, parts are more abundant for the Styhl if you plan on keeping it for a few years. The current saw I have has cut over 250 acres of brush, bought it in 2007.

Electric chainsaw for milling? - The Forestry Forum
WEBNov 9, 2018 · I have a Logosol m8 and an MS660 chainsaw for milling. The chainsaw is pretty loud for my suburban location, and it uses a lot of gas. I would like to find an electric chainsaw to replace the MS660. I am aware that Logosol makes an electric chainsaw for milling, but I can't afford the thousands of dollars they charge for their solution.

WEBJan 27, 2022 · Another vote for Stihl chain, but I wouldn't pay $35 a loop, aside from maybe keeping it for "special" cutting. My dealer is reasonable on reel prices, and I scored a couple 100' reels from Ebay for about what Chinese chain costs. I like Carlton also, and it's very reasonable. That's my second choice after Stihl.
