The Broncos traded second-year wideout Devaughn Vele to the Saints on Wednesday, which brings back memories of the Demaryius Thomas trade to the Houston Texans back in 2018. If he plays, Vele's first game as a Saint will be against his former team, so it'll be interesting to see if he suits up.

4. Denver’s running back rotation: J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey are safe. Tyler Badie seems to be safe. Jaleel McLaughlin is probably safe. That's four. Are Blake Watson and Audric Estime about to get cut? If they are the last two RBs on the field on Saturday, the chances of Watson and Estime making the active roster will be slim.

There’s little path to a roster spot for Mathis, at this point. The Broncos have perhaps the best five-deep of cornerbacks — Pat Surtain II, Riley Moss, Ja’Quan McMillian, Jahdae Barron and Kris Abrams-Draine — in the NFL. Slowly, over the course of his rookie deal in Denver, Mathis has gotten phased out of a role.
