President Donald Trump’s pick to be the top federal prosecutor in Manhattan will get to stay in the job, even though he hasn’t been confirmed by the US Senate.

Clayton was appointed to lead the Manhattan-based U.S. Attorney's Office following a vote by the Board of Judges. The move, which came just before Clayton's interim term was to have ended, means that he can serve on an indefinite basis until the president chooses another person for the post.
