Brennan Johnson scored a stoppage-time winner to keep alive Tottenham's League Cup hopes after second-tier Coventry City threatened to deny their top-flight opponents a place in the last 16 on Wednesday.

There was bad news for Tottenham, despite their Carabao Cup win over Coventry on Wednesday night, as Wilson Odobert suffered a ‘fairly significant’ injury. It was a dramatic night at the Coventry Building Society Arena as the Championship side had the lead with just a few minutes to play as they looked to cause an upset.

The result also kept alive one of Tottenham's 2024/25 trophy chances in the same week manager Postecoglou received some negative reaction for saying he "always" wins silverware in his second season. So, while the performance was not there, on the whole a win is still something to be positive about.
