Severe thunderstorms and heavy rains on the island of Maui have prompted the National Weather Service in Honolulu to issue a severe thunderstorm warning and a flash flood warning today.

Since the establishment of Indonesia's new capital, Nusantara (IKN), hydroclimate extremes have emerged as a significant environmental concern. One of the most notable events was the devastating flash flood on March 15–16,

"The heavy rain has ended. Flooding of low-lying and/or poor drainage areas may continue for a few hours until the water has had a chance to recede. Please continue to heed remaining road closures," says the NWS Fort Worth TX. The warning is in effect until 2 p.m.
