Harris County is being sued once again by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton over the county’s planned guaranteed income program, despite changes to the program intended to avoid legal challenges by limiting its scope.

Texas AG Ken Paxton has filed another lawsuit against Harris County regarding the 'Uplift Harris 2.0' program, which would give $500 to nearly 2,000 residents per month for 18 months.

It's the second time the Texas attorney general has filed suit against the county over the program that provides financial assistance to low-income families.

Paxton earlier this year struck down the county's efforts to provide monthly stipends to lower-income families. He requested the state prohibit payments under the county's pilot guaranteed income program.
