The merger between Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines is official, making it possible to share loyalty benefits between both carriers.

Alaska Airlines announced on September 18 that it’s completed its acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines. A press release noted that the carriers will maintain their respective brands. However, the future holds more flexibility and an expanded flight range for customers.

On Wednesday, Alaska Airlines acquired Hawaiian Airlines in a historic merger. The acquisition is the largest merger between U.S. carriers in eight years.
