A tropical storm has formed in the Caribbean and is expected to bring heavy rain that will likely trigger “life-threatening” flash floods and mudslides for portions of Central America, U.S. forecasters say.

The weather may begin to deteriorate by late Wednesday or Thursday as Sara’s leftovers begin to turn to the northeast and pick up speed. As it moves closer it will start spreading showers and possibly thunderstorms into the Suncoast. Models differ on timing, but this would be the general drift of the forecast.
