Mahindra & Mahindra is in discussions with InterGlobe Aviation to resolve a trademark issue regarding the use of "6e" in its new electric model, BE 6e. IndiGo, which uses '6E' as its airline code, has sued Mahindra for trademark violation.

After InterGlobe Aviation, which operates IndiGo airline, filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Mahindra Electric for using ‘6E’ in its new car, the automaker said on Tuesday they do not see a conflict and are engaged in discussions with the budget airline to find an amicable solution.

New Delhi: Mahindra & Mahindra and InterGlobe Aviation, which owns IndiGo airlines, were on Tuesday locked in a tussle over infringement of '6e' trademark, despite the automaker claiming it is in discussions to find an amicable solution.

In a filing with the stock exchanges, M&M said that it does not see any conflict with IndiGo pertaining the trademarks, and that along with MEAL, it is in talks with the airline to arrive at an “amicable solution”.

IndiGo's IATA code is '6E' and it uses '6E' extensively as part of its branding. Last week, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) expanded its electric vehicle portfolio in the country with the introduction of two all-new models.
