Many of Apple Intelligence’s most anticipated features will arrive in a trickle well after the release of iOS 18, and according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, it could be December before the iPhone will offer things like AI-generated images and custom emoji.

Apple Intelligence features are expected to arrive via iOS 18.1 in October, but it turns out these features might arrive in iOS 18.2.

While some of Apple Intelligence will arrive in iOS 18.1 long after the launch of the iPhone 16, the image generation features may not arrive until iOS 18.2.

According to Gurman, the feature set will begin shipping in iOS 18.2, including both the new Image Playground app and Genmoji. This is another big step forward for the Apple Intelligence rollout, although the all new Siri with personal context is still expected to ship in iOS 18.4 in next spring.
