The Boston Bruins' options in net don't inspire confidence if they remain entangled in a contract dispute with Jeremy Swayman, says Adam Proteau. Could it cost a playoff spot?

For now, the Bruins will have to forge ahead with both Joonas Korpisalo and Brandon Bussi as their primary options in net.

On Thursday, the team signed veteran netminder Kasimir Kaskisuo to a professional tryout agreement (PTO). Kaskisuo will join depth options Brandon Bussi and Ryan Bischel in what seems to be Boston’s contingency plan should the Swayman negotiations drag on.

Instead, the Bruins saw two goalies headline their two sessions Thursday, with Joonas Korpisalo leading the first group and Brandon Bussi the second. And with Jeremy Swayman unsigned and not at camp, Korpisalo and Bussi will be the tandem the Bruins turn to for the foreseeable future, perhaps even into the regular season.

Korpisalo, acquired in the Linus Ullmark trade with Ottawa, looks forward to working with goalie coach Bob Essensa — and he already has been hugged by Jeremy Swayman.

With Jeremy Swayman still unsigned, the Bruins' current goalie corps features Joonas Korpisalo and Brandon Bussi.

At the start of training camp in Boston, it was confirmed that Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman would not attend until he signs a new contract. On Wednesday, general manager Don Sweeney announced that the netminder will not be on the ice until a contract is finalized,

The new goalkeeper intends to go about business as usual, honing his game, while the team's No. 1 goalie remains unsigned.
