Lionsgate has big ambitions to apply generative AI in its work, but familiar critics have emerged after the studio’s partnership with Runway was revealed.

The deal will see Runway train a new AI model on Lionsgate's film and TV library as the entertainment company uses the tech "to develop cutting-edge, capital-efficient content creation opportunities."

Proprietary AI models could allow Lionsgate execs to watch a rough draft of a movie before they make greenlight decisions.
