The Pittsburgh Steelers are poised to make a move that will settle the question of who will be the quarterback for the 2025 NFL season. Justin Fields and Russell Wilson could be in for a surprise with a move from Mike Tomlin's team.

Russell Wilson's future remains a question mark heading into the offseason, but the veteran quarterback reportedly could end up on the New York Giants. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler discussed the Wilson situation during an appearance on Sunday's episode of SportsCenter and suggested the signal-caller would love to re-sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers but is at least connected to the Las Vegas Raiders and Giants at this point.

But according to ESPN NFL analyst Matt Bowen, 2025 could be different but not in the way most fans would like to see. Bowen believes the Steelers are primed for a setback in 2025 due in large part of the problems with the offense.

The Steelers enter the offseason with an estimated $50 million in salary cap space, after the release of LB Preston Smith. according to Spotrac, which is top-10 in the NFL. Signing a veteran quarterback would eat a significant chunk of that space.
