Minnesota Timberwolves players released a statement expressing sympathy for their community amid rising ICE tensions and recent fatal incidents in Minneapolis.

The Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves meet Thursday at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET.

The Wolves are showing their support for Minnesota during a difficult time in the state.

The Timberwolves took the Target Center floor for warmups before their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night, Jan. 29, with a new warmup shirt. The black T-shirts read “Stand with Minnesota” and are meant to be a gesture of support and call for unity across the state in the wake of the Minneapolis shooting deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti by federal agents.

After the NBA postponed the planned match between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors, the rescheduled game opened with a tribute to ICU nurse Alex Pretti, who was gunned down by federal agents yesterday.
