David Chalian, a veteran political journalist who has long helped put together CNN‘s most important nights of election coverage, has been named the network’s Washington Bureau chief.

David Chalian, CNN’s longtime political director, has been promoted to senior VP and Washington, DC bureau chief. The appointment follows the departure of Sam Feist last summer. He has joined C-SPAN as CEO.
