Video shows the moment a gas explosion in Wilmington, North Carolina, left four firefighters injured after a suspect crashed into a veterinary clinic and hitting a gas line, according to authorities.

Three firefighters were injured and subsequently hospitalized — two with non-life-threatening injuries and another with severe burns to their hands and arms, Thurston said.

"Weather conditions expected to deteriorate along the coast of North Carolina by this evening," the hurricane center said.

Impacts from Hurricane Erin, a category two hurricane, are expected to begin in North Carolina on Wednesday.

The authorities there have ordered a mandatory evacuation of the islands of Hatteras and Ocracoke, warning that the main highway linking them to other islands could become impassable.
