Expectations were sky-high and some fatigue may have crept in over Nvidia’s rocket-like trajectory but make no mistake: this was a remarkable quarter, burnished by fantastic execution and a sound plan.

U.S. stocks climbed Thursday after market superstar Nvidia and another round of companies said they’re making even fatter profits than expected. The S&P 500 pulled 0.5% higher after flipping between gains and losses several times during the day.

Nvidia reported earnings that saw revenue and EPS come in stronger than Wall Street forecasts, though the stock fell 2% amid sky-high expectations.

Huang brushed aside reported engineering snags with the new GPU offering and said the platform's Q4 sales should exceed prior estimates.
