The Indian stock market faced selling pressure on February 21, with auto and pharma stocks dragging indices down for the fourth session. Nifty 50 fell 0.5% to 22,810, while Sensex dropped 0.52%. Global trade tensions prompt investors to seek safe havens like gold.

The S&P BSE Sensex ended 424.90 points to 75,311.06 at the closing bell, while the NSE Nifty50 fell 117.25 points to settle at 22,795.90.

Indian benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex ended the previous trade session in the red. Nifty 50 closed at 22,913.15, while Sensex ended at 75,735.96. Overnight, Wall Street indices ended lower. Asian stocks were trading in a tight range in early trade today.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a negative start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 22,860 level, a discount of nearly 80 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.

Indian benchmark indices closed lower on Thursday, pressured by losses in heavyweight banks and Maruti Suzuki amid U.S. tariff concerns. The BSE Sensex fell 203.22 points (0.27%) to 75,735.96, while the Nifty 50 declined 19.

The bears are continuously pulling the Indian markets down as the Nifty, and Sensex opened with U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff threats.The benchmark indices, Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex declined at the opening bell as selling pressure persisted across most sectors.

Stock Market Closing Today On Feb 19: the 30-share BSE benchmark Sensex declined 28.21 points or 0.04 per cent to close at 75939.18. The NSE Nifty went down by 12.40 points or 0.05 per cent to close at 22932.
