Inter Miami forward Luis Suarez, a Uruguayan legend who retired from the national team last month as the all-time leading scorer, blasted coach Marcelo Bielsa on Thursday for the “toxic culture” he created upon his arrival in 2023.

Just-retired striker Luis Suárez has criticized Uruguay coach Marcelo Bielsa for the way he treated players during the Copa America, saying the “friction” hurts. Uruguay finished third at the Copa in July in the United States but Suárez said all was not well behind the scenes.

Luis Suarez lamented the negative atmosphere in Uruguay's facilities and said the coach didn't even greet players in the morning.

Luis Suárez took to the media to criticize Uruguay head coach Marcelo Bielsa. A month after announcing his international retirement Suarez denounced his former coach for creating a toxic environment and for separating the group of players.
