The cold arrives late on the holiday, and then areas like Grand Rapids, Holland and South Haven could see several inches of snow over the following days.

In the west Michigan snow belt, areas likely to see lake-effect snow include Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, Muskegon, Holland and South Haven. The prediction page says 1-3 inches could fall in the area this week.

Temperatures will be as much as 20 degrees below normal without the wind chill, which will make the air feel even colder.
