Luigi Mangione has pleaded not guilty to a federal murder charge in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, as prosecutors formally declared their intent to seek the death penalty against him.

Luigi Mangione, the 26-year-old accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, pleaded not guilty Friday to all federal charges against him, and his attorney said she’d request that his federal case go to trial before his state cases.
