Mattel, Inc recently announced the addition of a blind Barbie doll and a Black Barbie doll with Down syndrome, created to allow even more children to find a doll that represents them and inspire all children to tell more stories through play.

"When I was growing up I would have only dreamed for this moment to come,” doll ambassador and disability activist Lucy Edwards posted on her Instagram story Tuesday.

In an effort to be more inclusive and represent the wide range of children who play with their toys, Mattel has announced the addition of a blind Barbie doll and a Black Barbie doll with Down syndrome -- both of which are now selling at major retailers for $10.
