Estimating standard shipping to be roughly $6 per order, an Amazon Prime membership will pay for itself if you're making about two orders a month.
If you’re an Amazon Prime member, be aware that you may be losing a key perk. The online retailer is sunsetting the Prime Invitee Program, which gives Prime members permission to share Prime delivery benefits with people outside their household, according to Amazon’s customer service page.
If you have Amazon Prime, you also get access to discounted Amazon Kids Plus. The subscription service features a range of ad-free content, including books, games and videos for children ages 3 to 12. Parents can limit the amount of screen time available to their children and manage up to four profiles on iOS and Android.
After nearly 16 years, Amazon is ending a major Prime benefit. Beginning Oct. 1, Amazon Prime members will no longer be allowed to share free shipping benefits with others — a perk members have enjoyed for more than a decade. “Prime benefit sharing through the Prime Invitee program will end on 1 October 2025,“ Amazon announced.
Amazon will pay both the Federal Trade Commission and consumers directly to settle a lawsuit alleging that it used manipulative and deceptive tactics to encourage sign-ups for Prime.
