FARGO — North Dakota State quarterback Cole Payton passed for 212 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 74 yards and two scores to spark the No. 1-ranked Bison to a 48-16 victory against Northern Iowa on Saturday in Missouri Valley Football Conference play at the Fargodome.

Defense was the name of the game in North Dakota State 15-10 win over the University of North Dakota. The top-ranked Bison’s win clinched the Missouri Valley Football Conference Championship.
