Weather officials extended a heat advisory until 12:00 a.m. Friday and thunderstorms and rain are likely to roll into the area by Thursday night.
The forecast for the Chicago area is again heating up Tuesday. ABC7 Accuweather Meteorologist Tracy Butler says highs for Tuesday will be around 95, with a heat index of 98-103 degrees. Butler said temperatures will be lower along the immediate lakefront.
Hot and humid weather continues in Chicago today before thunderstorms move in Thursday and summer heat returns early next week.
As dangerously high temperatures push heat indices into the hundreds, extreme heat warning issued through 10 p.m. Wednesday.
