A rapidly strengthening storm is expected to develop off the Southeast coast this weekend amid a deadly cold outbreak, bringing snow and strong winds just days after a historic winter storm blasted large parts of the East Coast.
The storm will break records, NWS said, “bringing coldest air in nearly a decade plus” to Florida. An Extreme Cold Warning is in place for Sunday morning, where wind chills could reach the upper-teens in West Palm Beach, where cities are asking customers to conserve power and medical institutions are seeing an influx of flu and asthma diagnoses
"An intense surge of arctic air behind the coastal storm is bringing below freezing temperatures and wind chills," the WPC said.
