The New York City Council voted to approve developer Bruce Teitelbaum’s 1,000-unit housing project known as One45.
The Council voted to approve One45, the name of a $600 million roughly 1,000-unit complex from developer Bruce Teitelbaum, at its Monday meeting. The body was largely expected to approve the project after it won the support of local Councilman Yusef Salaam in June, but its path forward until then seemed anything but assured.
Some major highways remained partially closed or restricted late Monday, including the Cross Bronx Expressway, Harlem River Drive and the Staten Island Expressway, according to city emergency officials. Flooding forced a traffic detour on the George Washington Bridge ramp to the Harlem River Drive.
Three people were injured in a shooting that occurred in the East Harlem neighborhood on Thursday night, according to the City Police Department. The gunfire erupted at 216 East 122nd Street just before 9 p.
The event is slated for Aug 9, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at the intersection of 109th Street and 5th Avenue, where the street will be officially co-named “Isaac ‘Fatman Scoop’ Freeman III Place.” In attendance will be the Grammy Award winner’s friends and family alongside local leaders, community members, and fans.
