LUBBOCK, Texas — The Arizona State Sun Devils were welcomed to Big 12 play in rude fashion on Saturday — taking a 30-22 loss to Texas Tech at Jones AT&T Stadium in the conference opener for both schools. The Sun Devils (3-1, 0-1) trailed from the start but fought back each time to make it a one-score contest.

Arizona State football coach Kenny Dillingham and the Sun Devils suffered their first loss of the season, 30-22, to Texas Tech and got their first taste of the hostile environments that await in the Big 12 Conference.

The Big 12 opener for both teams is a chance for Arizona State to have its first 4-0 record since 2016 and for Texas Tech to put to rest a rough start to the season.
