This shot from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope shows a maelstrom of glowing gas and dark dust within one of the Milky Way’s satellite galaxies, the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). This image, taken by NASA Hubble Space Telescope, is a very thin section of a supernova remnant caused by a stellar explosion that occurred more than 1,000 years ago.

This space object is a young star known as IRAS 05506+2414 covered with thick gas and dust depicting a massive explosive event. This Hubble image captures supercluster Abell 901/902 with hundreds of galaxies. Studying the clusters helps astronomers map dark matter in space.
