NEW DELHI (Reuters) -Artillery shells sold by Indian arms makers have been diverted by European customers to Ukraine and New Delhi has not intervened to stop the trade despite protests from Moscow, according to 11 Indian and European government and defence industry officials,

India denies allegations of diverting artillery shells to Ukraine, emphasizing compliance with international export obligations and regulations.

European clients are sending Ukraine casing for artillery shells produced in India. Reuters reported that India remains passive to Russia's protests, citing eleven sources from the governments of India, the European Union, and the defense sector.

The MEA termed the report speculative and misleading and said that India has an impeccable track record of compliance with international obligations on the export of military and dual-use items.

Responding to the report, the Ministry of External Affairs, in a statement, said such actions imply violations by India, where none exist, and hence, is "inaccurate and mischievous."
