Joining a beloved franchise like Star Wars isn’t as easy as it looks, even for seasoned sci-fi veterans. For Katee Sackhoff , stepping into the live-action armor of Bo-Katan Kryze in The Mandalorian turned out to be one of the most emotionally difficult challenges of her acting career.

Sackhoff has been playing Bo-Katan – a Mandalorian fighting for the freedom of her people – for years. She started off voicing the character in the animated series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” back in 2012. She returned as the character in a second animated show – “Star Wars: Rebels” – in 2017.
