Close to 1 p.m., an ABC 6 reporter saw ICE agents leaving The Gates Apartments in Northwest Rochester. Representative Andy Smith (DFL-Rochester) was on scene at The Gates and said two cars carrying five or six ICE agents stopped at the apartment complex and told residents they were there for “targeted enforcement.”

After a flurry of ICE related events unfolding across Minnesota, Rochester Public Schools’ superintendent Dr. Kent Pekel sent a letter to parents discussing the school district’s procedures around dealing with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

ROCHESTER, Minn. - The Rochester Branch of the NAACP released a statement on Friday morning to "denounce climate of fear created by ICE" and let the community know they will be standing with them.

Federal immigration agents conducted enforcement operations in Rochester Thursday as part of the Department of Homeland Security’s renewed rollout of immigration enforcement in Minnesota.

The State Patrol says the driver of the truck is a 69-year-old man from Waseca and his passenger is a 71-year-old woman from Waseca. Their names and conditions have not been released. The Rochester Police Department, Rochester Fire Department, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.

The rally, “From Minnesota to New York: Immigrants speak out," took place on Plymouth Avenue in Rochester Saturday morning.
