New York Rangers center Mika Zibanejad and coach Mike Sullivan achieved career milestones Saturday, one day after the team president sent a letter to fans expressing disappointment over how the season has gone.
New York Rangers president and general manager, Chris Drury, said the team will be pursuing a "retool" of the team and won't "stand pat" amid this season's struggles.
That distinction did little to calm an angry fan base. The Rangers have the worst record in the Eastern Conference at 20-22-6 for 46 points. They average just 2.58 goals per game and allow over three goals per night. While the power play ranks inside the top 10, defensive lapses and injuries have erased momentum.
New York Rangers general manager Chris Drury sent a message to fans saying the struggling team will go through a "retool."
