More than 375,000 Tesla vehicles are being recalled because of issues with their power steering systems, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a notice issued Friday.

The circuit board for the electronic power steering assist could experience what recall documents call an “overstress condition,” which would result in a loss of power assisted steering when the vehicle stops and then accelerates again, which cold increase the risk of a crash, according to the NHTSA.

Tesla’s latest recall affects more than 376,200 examples of its Model 3 sedan and Model Y SUV and results from an issue with the vehicles’ power steering system.

The recall involves some 2023 Tesla Model 3s and some 2023 Tesla Model Ys, according to the recall report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
