The operation came as President Donald Trump is approaching 100 days into his second term, marked by a surge of controversial policies, including a crackdown on immigration in the US.

Officers from Immigration and Customs Enforcement are in the middle of processing people who were detained in a raid at what federal officials call an unlicensed nightclub in Colorado Springs over the weekend.

The raid resulted in more than 100 migrants being taken into custody, and "several active-duty service members from local military installations" were also detained, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office said.
