On Saturday, the MMA world saw unbeaten boogeyman Khamzat Chimaev achieve what many thought was an inevitability – become UFC champion at 185 pounds. Chimaev dominated, and defeated Dricus Du Plessis by unanimous decision 50-44 across the board in the main event of UFC 319 in Chicago.
To secure a quick title shot, the ex-Bellator standout was looking to become the first man to beat Lerone Murphy in the pay-per-view’s co-main event. Instead, though, Pico was viciously knocked out by Murphy’s spinning back elbow in round one.
UFC will host a pay-per-view event at Chicago’s United Center, with a middleweight title bout highlighting the card.
The UFC handed out four bonuses after Saturday's card in the “Windy City,” and all four went to fighters on the main card. After UFC 319, four fighters picked up an extra $50,000 for their performances at United Center in Chicago. Check out the winners below.
