Gov. Roy Cooper signed into law Monday a Senate bill that addressed how driver's education road test are conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Beginning this month, The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles will no longer require drivers trying to renew their licenses to retake a test on the identification of road signs.
Rather than have DMV staff in the car with a driver trying to negotiate traffic and parallel park, the agency has developed a no-contact "road test" that takes place in parking lots.
Got it wrong of course, but still passed. Real answer: Yes, this is an odd little quirk in the driver's test. It does include a question in which you're asked to identify road signs that are blank.
