The justices were deeply divided in decisions last year, and there are a handful of cases that could divide the high court again.

The court said hospitals cannot be forced to provide pregnancy terminations that would break the law in Texas.

If the legislature wanted to hold lawyers accountable for actions they take out of state, "wouldn't we expect them to be a lot clearer about that," Justice Evan Young asked.
