OpenAI’s for-profit arm finalized its conversion into a public benefit corporation and reached a deal with Microsoft that will see the tech giant take a 27% stake.

Microsoft's gains have put it on track to close with a market value greater than $4 trillion for the first time on record. It briefly traded above that level in July and August and first closed above $3 trillion in January 2024.

Australia's consumer authority accused Microsoft of "deliberately" hiding subscription information from its Australian customer base.
