It's easy to get swept away by the Sony A1 II 's headline features - its incredible AF, AI subject recognition, awesome image quality, and even its formidable price tag - but there are more subtle quirks about Sony 's new flagship camera that are worth a mention.

Sony has just unveiled its newest camera, designed to occupy that section of the market. Dubbed the Sony A1 II, this camera follows on from the original Sony A1, unveiled almost four years ago.

The a1 II is Sony's flagship camera, combining a 50MP sensor with the ability to shoot at up to 30fps in lossy compressed Raw, and up to 20fps with lossless Raw. It features the company's latest autofocus technology, and is Sony's first Alpha camera with automatic subject detection.

There's a row about whether the new Sony A1 II is actually the first camera with object recognition – not least from Fujifilm owners – but my drone could do this years ago!
