David Chalian, CNN ‘s longtime political director, has been promoted to senior VP and Washington, DC bureau chief. The appointment follows the departure of Sam Feist last summer. He has joined C-SPAN as CEO.

The network's political director takes over a role previously held by Sam Feist, who departed earlier this year to take a job at C-SPAN.
