Indiana Fever were without Caitlin Clark and lost Sophie Cunningham. How they managed to beat CT Sun
UNCASVILLE — Sophie Cunningham was down and the Indiana Fever appeared out.
The Sun blew a halftime lead en route to a 99-93 loss to the Fever Aug. 17. The team turns its attention to the Washington Mystics on Tuesday.
The Fever delivered perhaps their most-improbable win of the season Sunday, rallying from 21 down to defeat the Connecticut Sun, 99-93, in overtime.
With the loss to Indiana, Connecticut dropped to 6-27 on the 2025 WNBA season and was officially eliminated from playoff contention. The Sun still have 11 regular-season games left, but the current No. 8 seed, the Seattle Storm, hold 11 more wins at 17-18 and own the head-to-head tiebreaker with a 3-1 record. This puts Connecticut out of reach.
Stephanie White praised her Fever squad for rallying back from the 21-point deficit to beat the Sun 99-93 in overtime on Sunday.
