Microsoft bets on AI agents and rolls out new features for 365 Copilot as it seeks to convince companies of the value of generative AI.

Copilot in PowerPoint is also getting improvements, with an improved narrative builder that’s designed to let you quickly create a first draft of a slide deck. The AI assistant will even soon use a company’s branded template to create drafts or company-approved images from SharePoint libraries.

One of Microsoft Copilot's biggest advantages is its ability to help users within the Microsoft 365 apps, which have become a steady cornerstone of many people's workflows. With Wave 2, Microsoft is using customer feedback to further its Copilot assistance in the applications and improve user accessibility.

Microsoft is aiming to address skepticism about the value of AI in its flagship productivity applications — and justify the premium price for business users — with a new wave of features for Microsoft 365 Copilot.

The move comes amid a push toward automated agents and question marks around just how valuable generative AI assistants are for business workers outside of a few key roles. Driving the news: Microsoft is adding a new type of document—called Copilot Pages—that lives within its BizChat app and allows workers to use AI tools collaboratively.
