Google has admitted its earthquake early warning system failed to accurately alert 10 million people of the intensity threat of Turkey's deadly natural disaster in 2023.

Google's Android Earthquake Alerts system faced criticism for its inadequate response during the February 2023 Turkey earthquake, which resulted in over 55,000 deaths. The system's miscalculation of the quake's magnitude led to minimal urgent alerts being sent.
