ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter provided some clarity on the Minnesota Vikings' expected trade deadline strategy.

ESPN's Adam Schefter feels the Minnesota Vikings will trade for a veteran quarterback after losing Carson Wentz to what is reportedly a season-ending left shoulder injury.

Maybe the most jarring is how disappointing the Vikings have been in this area since coach Kevin O’Connell arrived in 2022. They have passed on 68.1 percent of these downs and distances, the most of any team in the NFL over that span. They’ve had a 20 percent higher conversion rate when running than when throwing.

Carson Wentz has been placed on injured reserve and will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery, according to CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones. Wentz made five starts this season for the Vikings in relief of starting quarterback J.

In particular, Campbell pointed out on Tuesday two young Vikings players that have impressed him: J.J. McCarthy and Jalen Redmond.
