Donald Trump has temporarily replaced the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office after Elon Musk’s son seemingly wiped a booger on it during their viral visit to the White House last week.

“This desk, the ‘C&O,’ which is also very well-known and was used by President George H.W. Bush and others, has been temporarily installed in the White House while the Resolute Desk is being lightly refinished—a very important job,” Trump wrote.

That’s why the iconic Resolute Desk has been temporarily removed from the Oval Office. Trump on Truth Social announced that the Resolute Desk needs refurbishing. So he’s had the desk moved out for now and replaced by what is known as the C&O desk, which he called a “beautiful” but “temporary” replacement.

Trump took to Truth Social on Wednesday to share a glimpse into the Office where the Resolute Desk has a temporary replacement. Trump, who uses the Resolute Desk, said that it is being "lightly refinished- a very important job.
