Santa Clara County assessor candidate Rishi Kumar is turning heads — and raising eyebrows — with a vow to shield older adults from property taxes. Some people are pushing back on the idea.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — San Jose Police say two people were shot at the Westfield Valley Fair Mall in Santa Clara. Police add that this appears to be an isolated incident and not an active shooter. Out of an abundance of caution, police say officers are evacuating and clearing the mall to confirm there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The building now offers unusually high electrical capacity — roughly 3,000 amps. It’s a rare feature increasingly sought by machine-learning, simulation and other power-hungry engineering teams.

According to documents filed last Wednesday with the Santa Clara County Recorder, Irvine-based LBA Realty paid $55.5 million for the campus, as reported by The Mercury News. The transfer was officially recorded with the county last week.
