Austin Dillon — He snapped a 37-race winless streak with his second consecutive victory at Richmond — and did it without the controversy of last year’s race. Dillon led 107 laps (he had led only eight laps all season). That also marked the most laps the No. 3 car has led in a Cup race since Dale Earnhardt led 107 laps in the 1998 Daytona 500.
The victory marked just his sixth in 433 Cup starts but made Dillon made the first Richard Childress Racing driver to win consecutive Cup races at the 0.75-mile oval in Richmond since the
Dillon won the Cook Out 400 on Saturday night, locking himself into the playoffs. It was the sixth career win for the 35-year-old and a big one, as it erased the memory of his Richmond win last year that was later overturned due to an aggressive driving penalty.
