Firefighters are working to contain a fast-spreading grass fire on the southern end of El Dorado County on Wednesday. Cal Fire's incidents webpage shows the Coyote Fire has burned about 367 acres in the Coyoteville area, about 21 miles southeast of Placerville.

A wildfire burning in El Dorado County on Wednesday afternoon has prompted evacuation warnings, according to Cal Fire. The Coyote Fire is burning near Cedar Creek Road and Coyoteville Lane in Somerset,

The wildfire started burning in a rural area several miles east of Highway 49 and southeast of Placerville. As of 4:30 p.m. the Cal Fire Amador-El Dorado Unit said the wildfire was burning at a moderate rate of spread.
