A Downing Street spokesperson has weighed in on “MasterChef” U.K. host Gregg Wallace’s response to misconduct allegations against him, calling it “inappropriate and misogynistic.” According to BBC News,

Gregg Wallace, the presenter for the U.K. version of "MasterChef" who is currently under investigation, apologized for disparaging comments he made about his accusers. Wallace has been accused by 13 different people of making inappropriate sexual comments to co-workers over a 17-year period.

Television presenter Aggie MacKenzie, who competed on “Celebrity MasterChef” in 2011, told ITV on Monday that Wallace made “endless smutty jokes” and alleged that “he’s been allowed to carry on in his own sweet way for many, many years.”
